I'm as disappointed as you are, but it seems ridiculous to swear and insult the game developer for 1 dollar 2 dollars, okay, I will not pay that much money, the money I will pay is more because I live in another country, but the game developer is not leaving here, the updates will be here soon, but there is no need to swear at the game developer so much, but to be honest, I am also disappointed, but I can understand the game developer, he probably needs money like us, but I was expecting steam key, this bothered me a little, but there is no need to swear so much, take care of yourself and god bless you
I appreciate your viewpoint man, it's understandable for people to be somewhat frustrated, or voice their opinions, but at the end of the day it's really not a big deal, and nothing to get into a shouting match over.
I'm a Chinese and when I bought the game on itch.io I found that the language options were not Chinese and the version of the game was not up to date, I kind of regretted buying the game and now I just want to get my money back.
I don't get the fuss but as of right now, the game has a 10% discount on steam and despite me, being on the list of people who got the game here, it's understandable not getting a steam key.
With that said, I got the game on steam too cause the dev deserves it. And seriously, the game is still cheap, it's not like we're paying for all the Sims 4 dlcs and expansions, chill people.
if you guys want to hear the truth this is from the discord "We will host some giveaways and raffles, but we cannot distribute the Steam copies among all the early adopters from itch.io." Yeah i smell greed, "we can't give all of supports keys because then we lose money!!" Scam game
ya'll do know ya'll still getting the update here right? sure i was disappointed too to know i wouldn't get a key, but this is prolly one guy in some basement (no offense) trying to make a living. yall should be happy you're still getting the update, just on later date and that's because the dev doesn't want to release a broken product (looking at you Activision)

This game is a brilliant well made game, I have no problems with it. I will say this as a suggestion to the developers, I believe that people who already bought the game on itch should be entitled to get free keys for the steam version of this game. Other than that I love this game

Early supporters should get a steam key, especially when developers can make as many as they'd like with no cost and Itch users are a minority compared to the populous that would buy from Steam. This would allow all the updates to be in one place for early supporters who don't want to wait for the Itch.io updates. That being said, I'm also okay buying it again. I ended up buying the game again on steam; it comes included with the OST and they're working hard on making a multiplayer mode. In my mind for the Itch release, you're paying a fraction of the price for the original concept and version of the game. With the Steam release, they're creating a more full-game experience. Mike's other games aren't really given this level of endorsement or expansion, so I think the extra cost is warranted for that reason. So, I think either is fair for the developer, and no one's entitled to a steam key. It'd be a nice gesture though

Steam has a huge number of users, which means the developers could make their money back quickly. It's important to consider the early supporters on itch.io too, even though it's a smaller community, played a vital role in the project. Therefore, it's only right that us early supporters should have access to the Steam version as well. Therefore I firmly believe that us itch.io supporters should be given the opportunity to get a free Steam key, as a way to show appreciation for their early support and loyalty.
seeing people complain about the steam version is so petty, like it's a single dollar, how are you gonna complain that you've been "scammed" or that it's "disrespectul" when yall were begging for a steam version just a month ago.
just don't buy it if you feel like you've been scammed, hell pirate the steam version if you want, there's nothing stopping you.

I agree with your views, but think of a large corporation creating something and charging $100 for it, then a few months later creating the same thing, but tweaking it to where it provides the same functionality, then asking you to rebuy it. It's the same concept, just scaled down to (well-made) Unity game.

I think the steam version's actually worth the extra investment since it has more items and the soundtrack for free.
