You're paying for a game that doesn't have the same features (in this case, multiplayer, which is a big part of the latest update) as the Steam version. I've never seen that anywhere else.
You're also paying considerably less (33% less) Not to mention the steam update is still in early access, so you don't even know that the features won't come here once they're ready
The game is literally the same price, or even a little cheaper on Steam with the current promotion, so what are you talking about? And even then, we're paying for a game to have the same one everywhere, aren't we? I'm not spitting on the development, but I think it's a bit lame to force yourself to release an update just on Steam, ignoring the Itch'io buyers who contributed to this development.
Remember when the dev lied and said the only difference was going to be the leaderboards between Steam and Itch version? And now the version people bought on itch, before the game was even known to be coming to Steam, has categorically less features.
The fact that we bought the game full price and we didnt get access to everything is a slap on the face considering we were the first supporters. It feels like a massive breach of trust.

I was wondering why I wasn't able to find the multiplayer option when I redownloaded the game. Finding out I basically have to buy the game again for one update when I already supported the dev here is messed up
$3 usd is not a lot but literally without us the early supporters, the game would not be a success or have the coverage it has.
this is a huge spit in the face to everyone who has supported the game and we should be provided with a steam key.
When you supported the game early and all you get is an obsolete copy and you have to buy it again on steam to get the new updates 😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌😂👌
Like many others i bought the game to show support a while ago, and also got disappointed in the lack of respect shown towards everyone who early supported this project. Yes its cheap, but its not really about the money, i was expecting that everyone that showed support was going to get a steam key because its the right thing to do, but we did not, the least i was expecting and i would have understood was an announcement as of why we wont be getting an key but we did not even get that, we are left in the dark. Will i buy this game on steam ? probably no, and if i do then i have another wall of text to write in the reviews, but there's other ways to play this game on steam and i will be exploring that. If the dev does not care, why should i ?
dude this is disrespectful as hell... i dont mind spending the money on the steam version but its just unfair to support the game early on, and then not get the same updates... i should have just used my friends copy like i was planning on
To be honest, I never agreed with those who demanded a steam key. But now, I think I'm on their side, allow me to explain:
Before, for me, there was no difference between steam and itch.io, even Itch.io version was better, because I own it, but now, the itch.io version has a huge downside compared to steam's version, which makes me feel, let's say, a bit betrayed.
I know that 3 USD isn't much. For USA standards, many people is not from USA and 3 USD are still low, but way more than for someone from USA or EU.
Anyways, at this moment, I think Mike should either provide a steam key to everyone (who purchased on itch.io) or add the multiplayer to itch.io version, because it's not fair for us to have to pay again for something he maybe didn't even think about before.
I'm sad to say it, but if he doesn't solve anything, it would be a "huge company maneuver" but on an indie developer, isn't Indie community against those practices?
Thank you for reading. And for those wondering, if he doesn't provide anything, I'll do nothing but remove my support for future projects nor purchase steam version, that's my course of action.
wait till the glazers come by and say your bad or evil for wanting a steam key we are rightfully owed at this point and not to this isnt a different platform issue its a development issue with the old supporters getting tossed aside for the steam bots by not getting the same updates like sure steam and itchio arent compatible but then make a server side for your itchio fans we do not need cross compatibility then i can understand buying 2 copies of the SAME game not these 2 different versions of one game its dumb and scummy business practice
