Found a playthrough but could only watch until the third level becasue I knew I wanted to play the final act myself. Love this game, the atmosphere is perfect, my heart rate is still up (I just finished the game before writing this review).
To the prospective player/buyer, this game is 100% worth the low cost, it may be short but the feeling it generates shits on many games charging 20x as much .
To the Developer, please keep making games, I will now be checking out your other titles and eagerly await whatever you do next.
i was going to say add more items but thinking about it im not sure what else to add you should add more dealers tho each with different rulesets or something and every run is like a mix of 3 so each runs still short but theres more variety and stuff i dont really care what you add just add more this is fun
The Dealer's design is kinda silly but besides that small nit-pick it is a really fun game. Hopefully it can gain a full release one day, like Inscryption for example.
i was linked to some gameplay of this by a friend of a friend and i looked it up on steam first as i thought it was from there. i found the itch.io page and bought this on sight.
i agree with this game having potential for expansion, also loved the inscryption vibes and especially the music
i've just finished livestreaming this on twitch with a heart monitor, the VOD should be easy to find!
this has got to be my most favorite short game i've played, when it comes with short games like this i'm like "oh that was neat" but with this one i played it 3 times winning every round. The anticipation that comes with trying to predict which were blanks and which were the bullets coming up with small strategies like i'm playing chess never gets old. Honestly by the time i'm finished typing this comment i'm gonna play it again, its that good. I look forward to trying out your other games you've worked on, the art style is simply the best and right up my alley.
adored this!! Love the attention to atmosphere and just how fun the items are. A super fun gameplay loop - i could see a 2 player/extended level/endless version going really crazy. Between this and unsorted VHS you've quickly become a creator to watch for me!
Aaaaah, now I want a bigger game, with more and different enemies. The atmosphere and the graphics were so good. Loved it! Reminded me little bit of "Inscryption", but... well with a shotgun. I really liked the usage of all the items and the "consideration" of whether the next step would be the best one. And all the small details and animations!
(the heavy typewriter-book where you had to type out your name is amazing haha)
I wouldn't have minded if another door had just opened behind the Dealer and I had to fight my way deeper into the club.
I really like the potential this game has. More items, more opponents with unique skills/innate traits (maybe we can get something like that, or in roguelike fashion we choose a character that has their own traits).
Still need to work on the AI a bit, as I'm sure you're aware. In the last round, it was confused with what to do with its items (it had no chance of regaining health yet chose to use all of its health items instead) and it also was too risky by taking avoiding a shell to the mouth, but them turning the gun on himself immediately after, winning me the game, when it would have halted progress by turning the gun on me.
I like the art design for the locations and items, the enemy/opponent is a bit over the top. I guess I'm trying to give constructive criticism, because if you developed this further, I would pay for it again, with more content, here or on steam, easily. More items, add in traits or skills or something like that. Think of all the flavor of (skilled) randomness you can further inject into the game. It's a great start, imo. Keep it up and good job, well well WELL worth my money.
Awesome game! Please consider making a multi level full release of this. And if you do, multiplayer with no/little gesture communication would be insanity. Also, is there a way to kick more then 2 doors or is that just a end game gag?
Kicking down doors is one of the stats that affects your final score (only if you've kicked down more than 2), so it is not exactly an end game gag. If you die and get revived in the bathroom, you will kick down more doors meaning you lose more money the more you kick.
Saw this game while randomly browsing Youtube and reminded me of Inscryption. When I saw it, I was instantly sold. I would gladly buy this again on Steam so that I can carry it around on my Steam Deck.

Reminds me of Sacrifices Must Be Made. Very good atmosphere, heckin' spooky.
amazing game, i hope this gets expanded on

Honestly a cool game. Would love to see it be a bit more expanded.

Genius and simple concept!

Overall, pretty good job! Keep it up!
Reminds me a lot of the RE7 DLC minigame from Banned Footage Vol. 2 "21"
Very good would highly recommend both this game and the minigame in RE7!

I think that when it smokes it's trying to get rid of useless items
Yea, it would be smart to get rid of useless items in the last round since you would get 4 items and can only hold 8, so it needs to make space.
I don't buy stuff from Itch often, but this is a purchase I'm more than happy with. Amazing stuff!
please, put this game on steam!!!
This is a great game. Would love to see more levels and items. Maybe against that person that signed GOD on their form.
Hey, I saw the playthrough someone made and I really want to listen to the soundtrack. Is it somewhere on Spotify?
Great game btw, will definently check out more of your stuff!
Hey! I am currently getting the soundtrack wrapped up. Will be up in the next 12 hours or so :).
Awesome game! Please consider making a multi level full release of this.

Awesome thanks for playing! Spoilers below ...

oHHHHHH that makes so much sense! I haven't tried dying just yet haha

Ah thanks so much! Glad you liked it :)
Dude this game is amazing. I've never played any video game like this before, certainly something that would be popular on steam.
Thank you :). Happy to hear you enjoyed it! Definitely try out Inscryption by Daniel Mullins on Steam. I think you'll love it!
Cool! Made a playthrough video:
