Creative little Inscryption-like that’s genuinely tense with great atmosphere. I recoiled IRL when I “shot” myself. Love how the game teaches you its mechanics little by little and then pulls out all the stops by the end.
I did get confused by the beer item’s description, and didn’t quite get what it does in-game. As far as I understand, you basically ditch the loaded shell; didn’t get what it meant by “the end of the round”.
Also, I thought that cigs should have been a curated item that both items get a set amount of at the start of each game instead of it being given to you at random. It means one side can basically cheese their way to victory if they get lucky. But I guess that’s the point :)
Since I saw this game something inside me forced me to play it. Early 2000's rave tracks in background, creep and unknow atmosphere, the SAW style machines and the Inscryption vibe.
Instead of buying a Pepsi, buy this game. Instead of a drink that lasts 5 minutes, buy this which lasts you 30 minutes. From the art style to replayability and uniqueness, I recommend this game and I see there was a lot of work put into it.
uh.. so if I’m not mistaken this has the potential to be a VERY good multiplayer game no..?
Like, the systems you have created here (aka the item system) is very similar to cards in a card game. Obviously some balancing may be needed but the potential is there. The difference is you’ve made it come to life with the atmosphere.
Id I’d recommend at least considering it. you’ve got something quite good here and I’m not the type of person to say that often
Games a ton of fun and has a great aesthetic. Only gripe is that the beers description seems a bit wonky to me. Think something like "Skips the next bullet in the chamber" would be better (at least I'm pretty sure that's what it does).
This looks amazing, are there plans or thoughts on expanding it? Doesn't seem needed but an RPG system/rogue lite system in the background to add game time or my real with, adding 1 vs 1 multiplayer as I would love to shoot my friends in the face with a shot gun. In a video game of course
A small detail that could be added with a patch: if after inspecting the chamber with a magnifying glass to make sure that there is a blank in it, then do not shake your hands during the animation of a shot at yourself because it safe. Same if you know what current shot is dangerous and you shoot to the the dealer because there’s a certainty of damage.
The game was excellent, thank you for this short gem :) But aw... when I saw Original Soundtrack link, I though I could buy the OST, I bought the game once more... Will the OST be purchasable? I'd rather have the OST available offline in places there is no network
The game is played in three rounds and only one of you survives, so there's definitely a proper 'ending' to each session. You can continually replay it in hopes of getting a higher score through luck and more strategic use of items (or, I guess, just surviving if you haven't done that yet).
it does have an ending , you play trough 3 rounds each round increases the amount of lives you have as well as potential gimmicks and if you lose at any round you have to start over from the beginning however there's nothing stopping you from replaying it since the dealer is AI and not predetermined.
in the third round there's actually supposed to be some sort of ending sequence with RETRY/QUIT options, so dying in the third round isn't supposed to close the game (un)fortunately
Very cool game! I saw video on YT by Alpha Beta Gamer and decided to buy it myself. I really like the game however I think it needs difficulty setting and/or making the AI a bit more clever. When you start round you know the numbers of live and blank shells. However the AI forgot the numbers mid-game and made a wrong choice (for example only 2 live shells were remaining but still chose himself). Other than that nice work! I hope we will see a DLC <3
Been seeing this all over YouTube today and looks amazing. I'm assuming it wouldn't work, but has anyone tried running this on steam deck? Really wanna check this out but alas no PC only the steam deck
The BGM and SE incorporated the game stylishly well, and the simple yet immersive atmosphere of the game made it impossible to notice the passage of time while playing.
In addition to purchasing the game, I donated a small amount of money through the 'pkman' account. Hope this helps.
I imported the game into Steam, set it to Proton GE compatibility and had no problems. However, launching through the itch launcher consistently crash.
The game has a fun aesthetic, and the gameplay is also pretty cool, but I found that the AI was not "ruthless yet fair" and would often end up blowing its brains out in situations with a very high (sometimes even 100%) chance of killing it, which took away from the oppressive atmosphere the game seemed to be going for.
A harder difficulty where the AI has more defib charge, more item draws, and smarter decision-making skills would be amazing, as the game feels more like it's worth $0.25 right now with the amount of playtime I get.
Wow, what an intense rush of a game, congrats. I have to say, the soundtrack is superb and on point, I really felt the stakes before pulling the trigger each time.
After I cut the support for the dealer and I knew my next shot was a live round and I was about to really kill someone, I started to feel doubt which was disturbingly amazing! If there's a future installment I wish there'll be dilemmas and regrets against maybe other people I would be playing against, or some story building empathy with the dealer before doing the deed.
Also, this somewhat reminded me of the blackjack DLC from RE7, which I loved. Please consider making a full game experience out of this, the concept alone is interesting enough.
after launching the game and pressing start my screen stayed black, the only thing i cound see is the mouse and the popup that i can use the mouse to interact. i also tried to run it as administrator, windows 10 home version 22h2, no antivirus
Hey Im not able to purchase this from Serbia. Its a regular visa card, I use it normally for everything else. Nice little game, hopefully this can be resolved somehow, my email is virtue_srb@hotmail.com, let me know if you found some work around.

These nitpicks aside - very, very good stuff.

is just ALL the things I like in one game.

i would LOVE multiplayer with this game
I got several moments of real tension with this game. Impressive. Congratulations, Mike!
There's a secret in the game.

Hey sorry to hear that! Did you extract the .zip before opening it?

Great game absolutely adore the aesthetic you chose for this and would definitely love to see more of it!

that’s what I said. This idea has extreme potential.

ÿes, please this i a great idea

friends, I would like to ask if this game has an end, or is it an arcade in which I can play endlessly?
The game is played in three rounds and only one of you survives, so there's definitely a proper 'ending' to each session. You can continually replay it in hopes of getting a higher score through luck and more strategic use of items (or, I guess, just surviving if you haven't done that yet).

But losing in the last round implies final death, since the defibrillator goes off, doesn’t it?
I don't know haven't died in the last round but i presume it sends you back into the bathroom where you get back up again?
I just checked and death in the third round closes the game. Which makes sense.
in the third round there's actually supposed to be some sort of ending sequence with RETRY/QUIT options, so dying in the third round isn't supposed to close the game (un)fortunately

Hi, Linux user here.
This looks extremely fun to play :)
Did someone test the compability with Proton GE by any chance ?
I imported the game into Steam, set it to Proton GE compatibility and had no problems. However, launching through the itch launcher consistently crash.
tried on lutris with wine-ge-8-25-x86_64, works just fine
Very cool short little game
i tried to run the game but it wont open how do i fix it?
pls help
amazing game, crazy immersion, loved every minute of it
Definitely worth considering an add-on or separate edition with multiplayer for playing one-on-one against a friend.
I love the animation of using the magnifying glass. It looks desperate but aggressive every time.
МИША БЛЯТБ ,ГДЕ ЕЩЕ?
Can this be on steam?
Very cool, but short
Lovely short game, gave me huge Jigsaw vibes, good concept and ideas! How long did you take to make it?
FOUND AN EASTER EGG (spoilers):
If you try to set your name as "GOD" it won't accept it, because the dealer already took it.

Ps. Shame I can't name myself 'God' :P
Fantastic game, very Inscryption. A full game would be great

i also tried to run it as administrator, windows 10 home version 22h2, no antivirus
did i do something wrong?
edit:
worked by launching the game from the cmd:
C:\Users\zahar\Desktop\buckshot>"Buckshot Roulette.exe" --rendering-driver opengl3
the lights are different tho, i guess we need a good gpu that works well with vulkan to work perfectly
btw i just realize that the screen was black whole the time, i could see only the white options "Start" "Credits" "Exit"
running from cmd:
C:\Users\zahar\Desktop\buckshot>start ./"Buckshot Roulette.exe"
C:\Users\zahar\Desktop\buckshot>Godot Engine v4.1.1.stable.official.bd6af8e0e - https://godotengine.org
Vulkan API 1.1.70 - Forward+ - Using Vulkan Device #0: NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 1050
yoooo guyss it worked by running in the cmd the next command:
C:\Users\zahar\Desktop\buckshot>"Buckshot Roulette.exe" --rendering-driver opengl3
thanks to my developer friend!
he told that if gpu doesnt works with vulkan then you can use OpenGL!
